Any commercial building over 50m2, marketed before 1st October 2008 and remaining on the market will need a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (CEPC) by 4th January 2009 at the latest. If it is sold or rented out in the meantime, a CEPC must be commissioned and then handed over as soon as is practicable. Properties new to market after 1st October 2008 will require a CEPC immediately.
